After our early evening tour of Angkor Wat, our group headed back to our lovely hotel for a fancy in-room dinner of pizza and baguettes from the bakery next door plus nutella, cheese and fruit. Not having to walk very far and eating in our jammies were high priorities after so much walking. The meal was pretty delicious!
The next morning, we met Tevi to head to more Angkor sites. The schedule included
Angkor Thom complex and
Ta Prohm temple plus a couple smaller temples. Since we took so many pictures over these two days, I'm going to continue the one-temple-per-post theme.
Here are our highlights from Angkor Thom. We entered through the East Gate and made our way to
Bayon temple in the center of the complex. Bayon is known for its 54 square towers with faces on each of the four sides. After wandering through the temple, we made our way to the Terrance of the Elephants and the Terrace of the Leper King. Enjoy!
